Show By the late 1960s, company administrators became increasingly aware of the health risks associated with uranium. At entry points the company posted signs to warn the public about hazardous materials. The signs read, WARNING /ANY AREA WITHIN THIS WALL MAY CONTAIN RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS. Warning signs also cautioned company personnel, who were provided with the masks, respirators, and other equipment then thought sufficient to protect their health and well-being. |
