Show Phyllis Barker Ronald Moshier INTRAMURAL DIRECTORS A larger and better intramural program was instituted at Weber this year. The directors, Carl Belliston, Lucile Clark, Phyllis Barker, and Ronald Moshier, realized the need and value of diversion from class work and devised a program which opened the field to all who were not participating in regular, school-sponsored sports. The intramural point system, installed this year, awarded a wall plaque to the organization having the greatest number of points. The award carried with it a three-fold purpose-to arouse interest in active participation, to hold interest, and lastly to reward the winning organization. The intramurals, conducted on a competitive basis, were characterized by keen competition; they added color and life to the school. YEOMEN VOLLEY BALL TEAM Yeomen won the volley ball championship without playing a game. After winning their first two games by forfeit, they were to have played the Faculty in the finals, but the pedagogues, who had defeated two teams in reaching the finals, failed to make an appearance. The boys' intramural contest activities began with the table tennis tournament. Interest ran high in this opening event. Business, who met Pre-Medics for the championship, won the title by taking two of the three singles matches and both of the doubles. BUSINESS TABLE TENNIS TEAM Lucile Clark Carl Belliston |
