Show Dr. Benne D. Williams (Right) is head of the WSC Psychology Department. He was born, raised and educated in Utah, receiving his A.S. from Weber State, his B.S. and M.S. from Utah State University, and his Ed.D. from Utah State University after doing graduate work at B.Y.U. and the University of Utah. He has been a member of the WSC faculty since 1966. Dr. Williams has been employed as a Peace Corps specialist in varying positions the past six summers. He has served as consultant on many civic boards and is a licensed psychologist in the state of Utah. Dr. Stephen S. Stanford (Left), Chairman of the Department of Sociology, was educated in New York, California, Utah and Colorado. He received his B.S. and M.S. at B.Y.U. and his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado. He has acted as a traveling lecturer on Architecture and Family Living throughout Canada and the United States. Dr. Stanford is listed in American Men of Science and is the author of numerous articles on science and religion. He has taught at Western State College of Colorado, B.Y.U., Middle Tennessee State College and Weber State College. J. LaMar Jensen (Below), Head of the WSC Mathematics Department, is a native of Pleasant View, Utah. He is a graduate of Weber High School and Weber College. Mr. Jensen received his B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Utah in 1953 and two years later received his M.S. degree in that field from the University of Utah. He joined the Weber State College faculty in 1955. Mr. Jensen did some graduate work in mathematics at Michigan State University in 1961-62. He has acted as department chairman from 1964-1968 and from 1969 to the present time. Dr. Emron A. Jensen (Above), Chairman of the Zoology Department, graduated from his high school with honors and attended the University of Utah on a scholarship. He has obtained degrees from Utah State University. Dr. Jensen's hobbies include music, hunting and sports. We are told that his favorite saying is, "What you don't know won't hurt you; it can kill you." E. Legrande Hobbs (Top Right) is head of the WSC Botany department. He is an excellent Botany 1 teacher because he seems to understand that his students have no idea what he is talking about. Dr. Sheldon P. Hayes (Right), Head of the WSC Microbiology Department, attained his B.S. and M.S. degrees from B.Y.U. He has worked as a Research immunologist in Department Anatomy, School of Medicine, University of Utah. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Utah, and has been at Weber from 1935-1936 and since 1941 to the present time. He has served as department head for three different departments during his time at Weber. Dr. Hayes' hobbies include travel, western history and bicycling. |
