Show C PRESIDENT As ASWSC President, Fran Wikstrom's goals were to gain tor the students the greatest voice possible in determining policies which affect them, to do everything within the power of student government to upgrade the quality of education of Weber State, and to make sure that the interests of all students are represented by student government. Fran has tried to move the emphasis of student government from the area of activities to the area of academics and serving the needs of the students. Students, Fran believes, have a great deal to otter to education, and student government is their voice. Fran has tried to make it a more effective voice this year. VICE PRESIDENTS Aiming to set up a format for promotion of WSC in the community, Larry's work as executive V.P. helped to better coordinate the school with the community and to promote good relations between them. He believes that "everything accomplished or enjoyed is a collective effort either in preparation or realization." Also that "friendships and acquaintances are the most important possessions one can obtain." As Activities Vice President, Dick believes "academic pursuits to be of prime importance in our careers, but a good social activity, occasionally, does wonders for the mind, body, and spirit of the student." (Not to say what it does for him personally.) In fulfilling his financial V.P. responsibilities, Brent has strived to represent well and ascertain student opinion. He believes that "the ultimate test of any system of living or philosophy of lite is its end result - the man and society it forms." In sponsoring a legislation that would improve our education and make things fairer for us, Craig has tried to make the Senate a more efficient body through improved record keeping and better information. Craig believes that "a well-rounded student seeks not only an academic education, but also a working and social education. Student government can contribute significantly in both these additional areas." |
