Show TENNIS Weber State's tennis team finished second for the second straight year with Larry Bauer winning the number four singles championship to give Weber its only tennis champion. Defending champ Dick Sparks was defeated in the number one singles, and he and partner Phil Judd were beaten in the number one doubles match. The 1971 tennis season was one of rebuilding last year's Big Sky runner-up, with a new coach, Jess Johnson. The team took to the courts against some of the toughest competition ever for a Wildcat tennis club. With a 1970 result of 5 wins and 14 losses the team was looking forward to a better performance under the direction of their new coach. 1970 Big Sky Results 1. University of Idaho.......26 2.
