Many of the above courses are taught each quarter, therefore, students may choose the quarter they desire to pursue specific subjects. A student intending to teach in the high school should consult the head of the Department of Education regarding the substitution of courses and requirements for specific colleges. LEADING TO THE STUDY OF LAW A student preparing for the study of Law should complete all regular requirements for the title of Associate of Arts or Associate of Science. The student should, with the advice and consent of the head of the department, select courses pre-legal in content. Such courses as stenography, typewriting, business law, shop practice, music, and drawing may not satisfy the entrance requirements to the Law schools. A student who is planning to meet requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree, which is required by some schools for entrance to law, should pursue a foreign language. A student should also pursue a foreign language if he knows it is required in the law school that he plans to attend. A student should not fail to consult the catalogue of the particular school where he intends to pursue his law work, because the pre-legal requirements vary in different schools. The summer camp courses should be taken between the sophomore and junior years. LEADING TO THE STUDY OF SOCIAL WORK A student preparing for Social Work should complete all regular requirements for the title of Associate of Arts or Associate of Science, and in addition should complete Sociology 1, 2, and 8.
