We went from there to Albert which is only a heap of ruins and the Country a mess of shell holes and trenches. Some are filled in and crops growing again but most if it is desolation. We stopped at Arras, the city so gallantly held and fought for by the British and ate breakfast. This city is almost entirely ruined, their fine old Cathedral being almost destroyed.
