Show Electronic Engineering Technology Electronic Engineering Technology General information Specific Requirements: • Electronic Engineering Technology courses required beyond the AAS degree requirements (33 credit hours): EET 311/311L (5), 321/321L (4), 322/322 L (3), 331/331L (4), 411/411L (3), 412/412L (4), 421/421L (3), 422/422L (4), 431/431L (3) • Five EET elective courses (20 credit hours) are required from the following: EET courses 450 through 461 (4 credit hours each), 481 (1-4), 489 (1-4), 493 (1-4). • One 4-hour upper-division technical elective course chosen in consultation with EET department advisor. • Other required courses (28 credit hours): Phsx 162/165 (5), 163/166 (5); Chem PS111 (5) or PS 121 (5); Engl 310 (3); Busadm course (consult with advisor) (4); General education courses in Humanities, English or Social Sciences area as required by ABET (6). PROGRAM: ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY MINOR This program offers students who major in another field the option to obtain a minor in Electronic Engineering Technology. General Requirements: • A minimum of 32 EET credit hours are required. • A grade of C or better in all courses used toward the minor. AC Circuit Analysis (3) W Introduction to AC circuit analysis. Alternating voltage and current, inductance, transformers, capacitance, resonance, and AC measuring devices. Multistage systems, frequency response, large signal amplifiers, thyristors, operational amplifiers, introduction to active filters, regulators, power supplies, and measuring devices. Design and build a microprocessor based system using assemblers, cross assemblers, emulators, input and output devices, and digital analyzers. Three one-hour lectures per week. Prerequisite: EET 212. Introduction to Networking (4) The course will develop an understanding of what is required in terms of both hardware and software to build, install, maintain and support a local area network and will emphasize extensive laboratory applications. This will include the layout, cabling, network cards, card settings, equipment interface, installation of software and troubleshooting. The course will also introduce the student to equipment necessary to monitor and measure signals and patterns. This training will prepare students to take portions of the C.N.E., Certified Network Engineer Exam. Prerequisites: EET 212. 289. Cooperative Work Experience (1-4) A, W, S The student will receive credit for approved electronics industrial experience. Ten hours of work each week is equivalent to one credit hour. Advanced Circuit Analysis (4) A The analysis of electric circuits using differential equations, LaPlace transforms, and Fourier Series. Four one-hour lectures per week.
