Show 36 37 Regulations Governing Residence: A prospective student whose credentials indicate out-of-state status will be so classified. All requests for resident classification must be filed with the Treasurer's Office. Application forms are available at the Office of the Treasurer. These requests will be considered in accordance with the following general rules: 1. The residence of a minor is determined by that of his legal guardian. 2. Residence in Utah merely for the purpose of attending Weber College does not entitle the student to resident classification. 3. Resident classification requires permanent residence within the State of Utah for at least one year immediately preceding registration, together with the concurring intention to make Utah one's permanent abode. Special Students: minimum fee, $15.00. SPECIAL FEES (Less than 10 hours) $3.50 a credit hour, Building fee, $2.00 per quarter. Listening Courses (Day) in which no credit is desired: $5.00 a quarter for each subject. Registration, as a listener, is permitted in lecture courses only; no student participation is permitted. Laboratory and activity courses are NOT considered listening courses. Evening Courses: Listening Courses in Evening School, are not permitted. A person taking a course without credit must pay the full fee. The charge for each Evening School Course is published in the Evening School Schedule. All evening school students will be charged a lecture fee of 50 cents a quarter and a building fee of $2.00 per quarter regardless of the number of quarter hours for which each student enrolls. Summer Courses: Tuition and fees for Summer Quarter amount to $35.00 for a student carrying 10 or more credit hours plus a building fee of $6.00. For students carrying less than 10 hours, the charge for each course is published in the Summer School Schedule. Students in this category must pay a $2.00 building fee. Late Registration: (Day) A late registration fee of $3.00 is assessed beginning with the first day general college instruction begins for the quarter; an additional $1.00 per day is assessed for each additional day up to a maximum of $7.00. Registration is not complete until the student has paid his fee at the Treasurer's Office. Late Registration: (Night) A late registration fee of $1.00 is assessed beginning with the first day general college evening instruction begins for the quarter. Exceptions may be made when classes are added to the schedule and for special promotions. THE STUDENT WHOSE CHECK IS DISHONORED BY HIS BANK WILL BE CHARGED THE LATE FEE IN EFFECT AT THE TIME THE CHECK IS REDEEMED. Registration Changes: A fee of $1.00 is assessed for any change in registration after the first week of the quarter. This applies to both day and evening students. Locker Rental: Wardrobe lockers are available for student use for a rental charge of 50 cents a school year or portion thereof. In addition, $1.00 deposit is required on all lockers. This sum is refunded when the locker key is turned in or when the locker is vacated. No refund will be made if the key is not returned. Lockers are required of all students taking physical education or laboratory classes. See Refunds section for other refund provisions. Lockers may be secured from the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. Cap & Gown Fee (payable at Bookstore by all graduates) $3.00 Graduation Fee 2.50 Make-up Examination: (a subject) 1.00 Recording Fee: (a course) for special cases 2.00 Transcript of Credits 50 Each student is entitled to one transcript free of charge. Breakage Deposits Breakage deposits are required in the following laboratory courses and in the amounts indicated: Bacteriology: ($3.00 a quarter) $3.00 Chemistry: ($5.00 a quarter) 5.00 Physics 21: (Photography) 3.00 Refunds will be made on unused portions of breakage deposit fees. The signature of the laboratory instructor is required to secure any breakage deposit fee refunds. No refunds will be made after June 30 of the school year in which the fees are paid. Miscellaneous Deposits Deposits are required on the following items: Towel tag deposits $1.00 Key deposits (each key) 1.00 Towel tag and key deposits will be refunded at the end of the year or upon withdrawal of the student. No refund will be made after June SO of the school year in which the deposits are paid. Refunds Tuition will be refunded according to the schedule provided below to any student in residence who, upon proper application to the Registrar's Office, withdraws from school before the end of the quarter. At the time the fees are paid, all students are given official receipts from the Treasurer's Office. These receipts must be presented before refunds will be allowed. No refunds will be granted to students who are requested to withdraw from the College for cause of scholarship or any other cause. The amounts refundable to the student who officially withdraws from the College are as follows: Weeks in Attendance Amount Refundable Two weeks or Less 100 per cent Third Week 80 per cent Fourth Week - 60 per cent Fifth Week 40 per cent Sixth Week 20 per cent Over Six Weeks No Refunds Allowed |
