Earth Sciences— Geography 1, Environmental Geography (5) Geography 2, Physical Geography of Utah (3) Geography 3, Geography of North America (5) Geology 1 or 11, Physical Geology (5) or (4) Geology 5, Rocks and Minerals (4) B. ♦Physical Science 1 and 2, Integrated Physical Science (5) and (4). H. Students who have completed Chemistry or Physics in high school with a grade of "B" or better should choose from the following: A. Courses open to those who have completed Chemistry in high school: 1. One of the Earth Sciences listed above and 2. One of the following: Physics 3, Meteorology (5) Physics 10, Introductory Physics (5) Physics 14, Astronomy (5) Physics 21, Photography (4) ♦Not open to those having had Physics in high school with a grade of "B" or better. Credit will not be allowed in both Physical Science 1 and Physics 10. B. Courses open to those who have completed Physics in high school: 1. Chemistry 1 or la, General Chemistry (5) and 2. One of the Earth Sciences listed above. III. Students who have completed both Chemistry and Physics in high school with a grade of "B" or better may select from the following: 1. One of the Earth Sciences listed above and 2. One of the following: Chemistry 4, Principles of Chemistry (5) Physics 3, Meteorology (5) Physics 4, General Physics (5) Physics 7, Engineering Physics (5) Physics 14, Astronomy (5) Physics 21, Photography (4) IV. The Physical Sciences requirements also can be met by completing any two of the following sequences: A. Physics 4 (5) and Physics 5 (5); or Physics 7 (5) and Physics 8 (5). B. Chemistry 4(5) and Chemistry 5(5). C. At least four credit hours from the Earth Sciences listed above. 43 Social Sciences: The general education requirements in Social Sciences may be satisfied by completing either of the following options: (1) nine to twelve credit hours selected from the introductory departmental courses or (2) nine credit hours of the integrated sequence of courses. Option No. 1: Departmental Courses Courses must be chosen from at least two subject matter fields. In addition, if the student elects more than nine credits of Social Sciences to complete general education requirements, not more than five credit hours will be accepted from any one subject matter area.
