Show Evening School Wendell L. Esplin, Director Marvin J. Peterson, Coordinator Weber College has offered classes in the evening for many years. In 1937 the Evening School was officially organized as an integral part of the college and placed under the supervision of a director. It has shown consistent and continuous growth, especially since the end of World War n. OBJECTIVES The Evening School offers the following programs of study: 1. Academic courses designed to meet lower division requirements leading toward a degree. 2. General education courses. 3. Terminal programs leading directly to employment. 4. Trade extension or specialized programs to develop personal and occupational efficiencies. 5. Hobby and recreational programs. FULFILLING COMMUNITY REQUESTS An effort is made to present any course for which a sufficient number make a request and when facilities are available. In most cases a minimum of ten requests for a specific course is considered sufficient for exploratory action on the part of the college. EVENING SCHOOL FACULTY All members of the instructional staff are professionals who have been selected for their outstanding recent experience in business, industry, and education. Many of the instructors in the Evening School are employed during the day in responsible positions in their fields of specialization, and bring to their classes the benefit of current practical experience. |
