Show An article in the Weber Sentinel dated June 4, 2004, reported on efforts to protect the historical site of the Erastus Bingham farm, established in 1851 bordering what is now West 2nd Street. The farm was approved by the state in April to become a historic sight. It is closely connected to our history, as a part of Bingham's Fort, where many of our early residents were requested by Brigham Young to "fort up," because of Indian trouble. Our history, and that of all residents of Weber County, would be enhanced if this site can be preserved. Bits and Pieces Andrew H. Hoth, A. Joshua Hutchens, Lacey Kautzman, Clayton Scott Lewis, Melissa Jane Lewis, Spencer K. Okey, Alicia Dawn Schofield, Kellie A. Slater, and Kelby D. Stanger graduated from Fremont High School on June 2, 2004. Congratulations to these fine young residents. Megan Layton received third place at the High Schools Rodeo. John Lucas, born June 9, 1924, celebrated his 80th birthday at a family celebration. Noel Dean Koford, age 64, died June 23, 2004. Larry Allen George, died on June 26, 2004, at the age of 61. The sentimental journey of Reed Holmes to find the original 1956 truck and trailer which belonged to his dad received a boost when he was able to find the original trailer on a remote ranch in Pine Valley, Nevada. He has been unable to find the original truck, but has made an exact replica out of a truck found in West Point. |
