The planning commission approved the site plan for the River Cove Nature Park on 1700 South. It includes passive recreational trails along the river, a small outdoor amphitheater and other amenities. The Wasatch Front Regional Council prepared a disaster mitigation plan, that helps identify possible disasters in our area. The plan may help reduce property damage and disaster costs when disaster occurs. These include those that can be prevented, such as flooding, and those which can be prepared for but not prevented, like earthquakes. Federal law requires such a plan in order for communities to receive federal funding in the event of a disaster. A resolution was passed by the City Council at their July 15, 2004, meeting to adopt the Wasatch Front Regional Council Natural Hazard Pre-disaster Mitigation Plan. Business licenses were granted to D & S Embroidery, H & H Electric, and AH Auto Creations, at the July council meeting. We extend the community's best wishes for the success of these businesses. Plans are underway for the Weber County Fire Department to move the fire station to a location in Farr West next to West Wood Village on 1900 West, in the year 2007. This will enhance the emergency response time to our city and nearby communities. Bona Vista Water records indicate that residents are conserving water. This, in turn, lowers the revenue to the water company. |
