The collection includes Autobiographies, Oral Histories, History of Marriott, History of Slaterville, and the History of the Merging Townships to create Marriott-Slaterville City. This information has left behind rich histories, stories and important information regarding the history of the Marriott-Slaterville area. |

ORVIL HOLLEY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD In honor of the contributions by Orvil Holley to the youth in this community, this award is to encourage leadership skills among our youth. Any youth in the community under 18 years is eligible for nomination for this award. Nominations will be accepted by the mayor for youth who have demonstrated leadership or skills, who organize an outstanding event, or who perform an outstanding service project. Deadline is August 1, 2004. DARRELL MECHAM SERVICE AWARD In honor of the dedicated volunteer service of Darrel Mecham, this award recognizes an outstanding individual for volunteer service in the community. Any person or organization is eligible for this award. Nominations will be received by the mayor on or before August 1, 2004, for any person or organization which demonstrates outstanding volunteers services rendered behalf of Marriott-Slaterville City._ LOCAL UPDATES Budget. The City Council has approved its new budget valid through June 30, 2005. The budget totals over $861,000, and includes projects such as the new office and senior building. Senior Center. City staff obtained a federal grant for the city to construct a senior center in conjunction with a new office building. The new senior center will enable the city to expand its senior citizen program. Nature Park. The planning commission approved the site plan for River Cove Nature Park on 1700 South. The plan includes passive recreational trails along the river, a small outdoor amphitheater, and other amenities._ Planning Commission - July 14, 2004, 7:00 p.m. Tentative Meeting - Subject to Cancellation 1.
