Martha Wright FOOTBALL BOYS LEARN NEW TRICKS A few days ago the team was out on the front lawn learning how to kick a football off a water spout. The instructor was very efficient in his ability to hold the attention of the fellows. Although Clark kicks a wicked football, there is still room for im¬provement, such as being able to kick a goal from the opponent's ten yard line. Cox thinks that after a few clays more training he will be able to accomplish this feat. —O-H-S— Hot Off the Gridiron Mrs. Lyon's little boy, Rudy is becoming quite a center. More Swamp Root, Rudy! Despite Fred Chez' ability to play foot ball, no excuse can be found for his wearing Toreador pants. Ogden's team is knitting in great fashion and expects to weave a yard of scores against Box Elder. Elmore Smith, the Tiger's nifty field general, is making more of a hit with the girls every game. It is rumored around school that Tommie Norton is taking lessons in forward passing from the blond flash. The Cub's expect to wipe out their defeat at the hands of the Weber Dinglings in the near future by re¬versing the tables. Bill Cox's blue sweater looks black and blue to the opposition and it carries also a mean threat. Short and Snappy Hooray for A. B. and Dutch, com¬monly known as the K. and D. Confectionery. Why? Because when the Tigers finished eating up Davis, they were still hungry and A. B. and Dutch gave the boys hot-dogs and soda pop. Gave it to 'em. So we still say hip-hooray for A. B. and Dutch. Gloom Chasers "When is a young lady not a lady?" Senior (yawning) "Usually." Pat: "My brother is living in Ireland, and says he's delighted." Pit: "Delighted at living in Ireland?" Pat: "No! Delighted to be living" Sense and Nonesense Mr. Hinchcliffe in glee club practice—"Everybody on page four sing." Mr. Wansgard: "Marian, where is the Rock of Gibraltar, and to whom does it belong?" Marion Benowitz: (after medita¬tion) "It's in Newark and belongs to the Prudential Life Insurance Company." Theron Jost (Athletic Mgr.) to printer: "Print on every ticket the words, 'Not Transferable'." Printer: "It won't do any good. Lots of people don't know what those words mean." Theron Jost: "Then print, 'no person admitted unless he comes himself'." Miss Crum to a Soph: Spell weather." Soph: "W-e-a-t-h-i-o-w-r." Miss Crum: "That's the worst spell of weather we've had this year." Mrs. Coolidge (in History). "Hasset! I wish you would stop smok¬ing that horrid pipe, and please buy some breath perfumers before you come up to my desk again." John Cole (on phone) "Give me 'one eleven,' please." Marcus C.: (just strolling into office) "Gee! Are they delivering cigarets now, John?" "A freshman stood on the burning deck And as far as I could learn, He stood in perfect safety For he was too green to burn." There are about 10,000 known species of fish. The suckers who wear Bull-fighters' pants are as yet unclassified. GET READY FOR THAT WEBER GAME!! |
