Show 3 In the 1916-17 Acorn, it is stated that the Board of Control consisted of the student body officers and faculty representatives and that regular weekly meetings had been held during the year. No definite number of faculty members was given. The description of the Board of Control for the years 1917-1920 is described in the catalogs as follows: The executive body of the school is known as the Board of Control. The membership of this governing board is composed of the president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer of the Student body, all the presidents of the respective classes, debating manager, athletic manager, editor of the Acorn, and faculty members consisting of five. They were the principal of the school, chairman of amusements, debating, athletics and the Normal Class advisor. This gives dominance of control to students, thereby encouraging self-initiative and ability to govern. All socials, matinees, concerts and school activities are governed by this school elected body. The 1920-21 catalog gives the same description of the Board of Control except that in the place of the principal and five faculty members it substitutes the president of the school, one student, and one faculty member. This board had general supervision over all student body affairs. In a Board of Control meeting held December 18, 1922, a motion passed that a representative of the Girl's Association be made a member of the Board of Control.
