Huggins, chairman of the Advisory Committee, stated that the purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of Weber College during the past year and to assist in the formulation of a legislative program. President William P. Miller explained the methods used for estimating the college enrollments for the year 1962-63, when the four-year program would begin. It was estimated that total additional costs for the junior year would be $313,970.00. The president reported that the firm of Hodgson and Holbrook had been appointed architects for the Library-classroom Building and Mr. Keith W. Wilcox for an Auditorium-Fine Arts Center. Chairman Huggins adjourned the meeting with the request that the members join with the newly elected legislators at a dinner-meeting in the cafeteria, at which time President Miller would present this same information to the legislators. A review of the College Budget Request for the biennium 1961-62 was given by Dr. James R. Foulger in the Advisory Committee meeting held January 19, 1961. He reported that during the current biennium, Weber's cost per student was the lowest of the state's higher institutions and was 16% lower than the average of all of the others.
