Show SADIE HAWKINS DAY NEW AT WSC Change came to the Games and Recreation Committee under the creative leadership of Howard Collett. The committee sponsored the traditional White Wash of the "WS" for Homecoming, the Flaming "W" Rally, and the Torch Ceremony at the Snow Carnival. They introduced several new activities during the year. They added games tournaments, which were open to the Student body, and the highly successful Sadie Hawkins Day. HOSPITALITY IN ACTION AT WSC The Hospitality Committee had as its objective the promotion of harmony between students, the area schools, and the community of Ogden. This committee conducted tours of the campus to civic and school groups interested in Weber State's education and facilities. They also sponsored the Homecoming Queen Contest, the Christmas Party for the children of the faculty and married students, and the Best Dressed Girl Contest. UB COMMITTEE DIRECTS EVENTS Directing the Special Events Committee during the year was Chairman Jay Flinders. The committee sponsored various events during the school year. Some of these were the Homecoming parade in downtown Ogden, the annual Christmas Party, the Union Building Birthday Party, and the Miss Weber State Pageant. The committee was responsible for all the events assigned to the U B by the student government. UB COMMITTEE LISTS TALENT The Music and Talent Committee with Marilyn Taylor as chairman was responsible for many of the Union Building activities held during the year. The committee" was responsible for the music listening room, the weekly music recitals, and the Christmas Party given for the children of married students and faculty members.
