Show Volume 2 _ Issue 1 New Zion Member of the Month “Min. Michael D. Smauldon” Min. Michael Smauldon is an Ogden-nite and is the oldest son of four boys of Sis. Sharon Smauldon and the grandson of Bro. Sylvester Daniels, Sr. He is a graduate of Ben Lomond High School in Ogden and has attended Weber State University majoring in Music. Min. Smauldon has played music with the Ben Lomond High School Bagpipe Corps as a Snare drummer in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City and has travelled to play with the band in Canada and in Scotland. He was baptized here at New Zion approximately five years ago and is one of New Zion's Associate Pastors. Min. Smauldon is faithful in various ministries, activities and events in the church; he is the drummer for the Music Ministry, a member of the New Members Orientation Ministry, regularly attends Bible Study and Christian Education Christian Leadership Classes. Min. Smauldon has been employed with the Transportation Security Administration under the Department of Homeland Security at the Salt Lake City International Airport for two years. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games, going to the movies and dinner with friends and family. He has a great love of Gospel music with his favorite songs being “This Is Serious by Onitsha, Traces by Joann Rosario, Everything by William Demps and So Grateful by Jamie Jones.” These songs always lift him up, makes him cry and laugh with the Lord. Min. Smauldon also has a passion for helping others in need.
