From the Patton's Pen ‘eee God allows ministries in churches that glorify in the Lord. Many times congregations don't see the big picture--that Pastors get lonely for family and long time friends, Pastors need pats on the back, Pastors need to receive some of what they give out, Pastors according to God’s Word, Him and at the same time, build up the body need of His congregation. Many of these ministries have a select or chosen few to be a part of the particular ministry. Yet there is one ministry at New Zion that each and every member Is a part of; though there may be select or chosen Officers. This ministry is the Pastor's Aide Ministry. | write about this ministry, not its purpose is to minister to the Pastor and his family, but because this ministry is vital to the growth of New Zion. Vital in that its purpose is to allow each member of the congregation to feel free to show love to the one God has called to serve them as Under-Shepherd of the New Zion flock. On September 25", the Pastors Aide ministry sponsored a fall fellowship dinner with the pastor. The main reason was not to comfort me and Sister Davis. The comfort of this dinner was the joy and fellowship of those who attended, worked hard and enjoyed themselves as well. The comfort was knowing that members care outside or alongside of their own needs of the pastor, but chose on this particular night to look at the needs OF the pastor. You made time to go the double honor, and that Pastors get tired and members) whether you were all in attendance or not! Thanks for all you do. can still smile from the activities of that fellowship. The words of encouragement from youth, James Neal and Malia Nixon; the words of encouragement from Sister Delores Hill on behalf of the noon day Bible Study Class; words of encouragement from Minister Stanley Ellington as an Associate Minister; Min. Michael Smauldon as a young adult; the Adult Drama team as well as the Youth Drama team, the praise dance of the Children of the King Praise Dancers; the good food and the tree of gold on my table.
