A Moment In Time The Ogden Community Action Housing Corporation in conjunction with the Ogden Weber » Community Action Partnership has recently bestowed the honor of renaming the Senior Villa ; Housing to the “H.C. Massey Senior Villa” during the rededication celebration on April 24, Bro. Massey ts a well known, long-time citizen, entrepreneur and businessman of the community. Additionally, he is a dedicated and faithful member of the New Zion Baptist Church for many, many years. The Pastor and members of the New Zion Baptist Church are thankful to God for Bro. New Zion Baptist Church Christian Leadership School is projecting to hold its first “Certificate of Progress Program’ class in Fall 2008. Min. Ellington, our Director of Christian Education, has Aue, updated our Pastor on our progress in establishing our CLS COPP. Pastor Davis has stated ~ 4 that Christian Education is an essential component of developing a strong Christian and a [ strong church. Additionally, he stated that he will do what is necessary to establish the 1 NZBC CLS COPP. He will teach classes that are in Phase I of the program with the objective FOF N of preparing more teachers. As a teacher becomes certified, they will assume the role of CHRISTIAN educating students. Min. Ellington has three more classes to complete before he is : ren EDUCATION able to apply for the COPP teacher’s certification. Sis. Brock, our Dean of Christian Education, is doing everything necessary to remain certified in her position. Pastor Davis, Min. Ellington, and Sis. Brock will be attending the Quarterly Intermountain General Baptist Convention (IGBC), which is scheduled for May 2008; and the National Baptist Convention that is being held in June 2008. At each of these meetings, COPP classes are being taught. Our attendance supports the progression of NZBC in establishing a CLS.
