Show Volume 2 Issue 8 Page 10 New Zion Member of the Month Since moving to the Ogden area they have been active members of New Zion for over 32 years. They have faithfully served in the Christian Education (both are Certified Education Instructors) and the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education. Currently, she is the NZBC Dean of Christian Education, a member of the Mission Ministry (previously functioned as President for numerous years) and Women's Choir. He is the President of the Nominating Committee, a member of the Finance Committee and Sunday School Teacher Ministries. The Brocks continue to support New Zion during various events and activities. “Bro. Willie & Sis. Dula Brock” Bro. Willie Brock is originally from Aberdeen, He is an alumnus of Alcorn State University where he played football. Upon his graduation, /, he served his county as a member of the United | States Army for several years. Bro. Brock 4 ‘elocated to Illinois to attend the University of | Illinois to study for his Master's Degree in | Agriculture. They are the proud parents of one son (Victor), two daughters (Jacquetta and Shardell), two grandsons (Griffin and Demetrius), one granddaughter (Nia) and two great-grandsons (Griffin Jr. and Xzavion). Sis. Dula Brock is a native of Lawrence County, IL. After high school graduation, she was the recipient of the American Legion Certificate of Distinguished Achievement and Scholarship Award and attended the Eastern Illinois University. Since their retirement, they enjoy spending time with their grand and great-grandchildren, home remodeling and travelling, which has brought them full circle, 50 years later. Bro. and Sis. Brock met while they were attending college in Illinois and was united in marriage at the University of Illinois in ChampaignUrbana on May 11, 1956. Upon Bro. Brocks achieving his Master's Degree, the couple later moved to Michigan, where Bro. Brock was employed as a Soil Scientist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Sis. Brock placed her education on hold to be a stay at home mother to their three children. A job transfer for the U.S. Forest Service took them to California. At which time, Sis. Brock earned her Fifth Year Teaching Degree in 1970 from California State University. The Brocks truly love the Lord and His people and count all He has done and continues to do a blessing. In 1977, the Brocks made their home in Utah, where he later retired from the Forest Service to work with the Community Action Center in the westernization program. He recently retired from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Once arriving in Utah, her teaching career lead her to the advanced training work at the Clearfield and Weber Basin Job Corps for 15 years. Sis.
