Show Volume 2 _ Issue 6 Father's Day! 2 er is | n his |family; | IS a very important part of who he is to his family. _ Father's are> looked at in different ways. Some are considered the rock of the family: ‘loving, kind, sh Some are labeled deadbeat, absent, abusive. Whichever description one uses for fathers depends a lot on who he is and His walk iin the lives of his children. As “Spiritual Father” of New Zion, | take my role very seriously. Some of you may see me as a strong, rock of a ‘dad’; some of you may see me as strict. Some may see me as treating one child this way, and another child another way; just as your natural children may think you do. It however, has nothing to do with caring for one more than the other. It has a lot to do with the relationship children have with their father, and father has with his children. As a ‘father’ sets the standards of his life before his children; his children are watching and making a determination in their mind what kind of ‘father’ they see him as, and this draws a child closer to him or drives him away. New Zion is growing with fathers; men. Men whose walk is one that says: | am in church; learning and growing, preparing myself to lead my family. A walk that says | want my children to rise up and not just call Mama blessed; but call me blessed as well. Fathers and men of New Zion, | look at your attendance of Sunday school, bible study and the Christian Leadership School classes as a desire on your part to learn to be the men, husbands and fathers God calls you to be. Training helps one’s growth tremendously. In order to put away those negative labels of father's we must grow. Grow from the way we knew that didn’t show strength and love for God. Grow from earthly characteristics to spiritual characteristics. Live that not only will your children think of you as their beloved; but also so that God will say he is well pleased.
