OUR CONDUCTORS Or. K. Earl Ericksen “Never one day in my life did | not enjoy going to work in the music department” Many WSC band members remember the great times they had playing in Dr. Ericksen’s dance band the “Star Dusters". He also, in his many capacities, had a special influence on many of our lives. Dr. Ericksen still plays his clarinet and saxophone “all the time". He plays in and directs the Junction City Big Band. He is married to Gretta and has 2 children, a daughter and a son (his son Steve is playing alto saxophone with us). He spent his career at Weber State as band director, orchestra director, dance band director, Director of Music Education, Music Department Chairman, and director of student teaching for music education students. He retired 12 years ago and likes to fish and hunt. His fondest memory is of associating with the students both in and outside of the classroom.
