RAHGO! Three cheers to Weber State’s Wildcat Marching Band. Under the direction of Don Threlkeld, this fine organization has been r. :ognized as the greatest band Weber State College has ever produced. Only through diligent, strenuous practice has this greatness been accomplished. Thirty-eight of the band’s sixtysix members began practice on September 8 in order to present a half-time show at the first home football game, which was before school commenced. These enthusiastic students were encouraged to continue their endeavors by the many compliments received by Ogden fans and Weber State faculty. When school began, the entire band anticipated a terrific season. The majority of them were surprised at the enthusiasm of the director. He insists on profesSionalism by having the members march with their thighs perfectly paralled to the ground and by having the members repeat intri- cate drills until they are flawless. The band has adopted the rehearsal yell ‘‘Rahgo,’’ which they emphatically shout at the beginning and ending of each practice session. A stripped kitten belonging to one of the members has been christened ‘‘Rahgo’’ and accompanies the band‘wherever it goes. He wears a rehearsal jersey similar to the ones worn by the band members. His rehearsal number is 001. The band has entertained during five football halftimes, two parades, several pre-game shows, and numerous civic and community activities thus far this year.
