Show 76 Art Education A concentrated foundation program during the freshman year prepares the art major for advanced courses within the art program. Departmental course offerings are enriched with workshops and special classes not offered in the regular curriculum. The Department of Art is also committed to preparing those students desiring further education for graduate programs. The record shows that art students from Weber State College have had success in gaining acceptance to and completing graduate programs throughout the United States. Career Outlook Many students complete degrees in art with the knowledge that their training will enrich their lives even if they choose some other area as a means of support. However, many students majoring in art find rewarding jobs as art teachers, potters, painters, sculptors, weavers, jewelry designers, printmakers, photographers, sign painters, graphic designers, illustrators, exhibition and display artists, etc. Studio Fees Studio fees are required of students enrolled in the following art classes: ceramics, jewelry design, oil painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and weaving. Because of changes in the costs of art materials, the fee will be determined on a yearly basis.
