Show FEARFUL CRASH OF TWO AUTOS INJURES THREE THURSDAY EVENING, George Whipple In Hospital After Collision At JULY 10, 1930. As the result of an automobile py collision at the intersection of Quincy avenue and Twenty-fifth street Wednesday at midnight, ;3 George Whipple, 27, of 548 Twenty- Hi fourth street, was in a semi-con- jpJjFi scious condition in the Dee hospital wSm today. He suffered a fractured skull and other injuries. Others who fig- R ured in the accident and were in- jured were J. C, Hoskins, 26, of 2017 Washington avenue, cuts on arms and shoulders, not of a serious na- ture, and Eddie Salt, 23, of Huntsville, arms and legs bruised. The accident was investigated by ggpl Detectives C. E. Noble and C. K. Keeter and Chauffer D. E. Shaw, hJW; who reported that Salt was riding in g the Hoskins car, Whipple being alone in his car. They said the ma- chines were being driven rapidly. Mr. Whipple was driving his car§ east on Twenty-fifth street, the of-S; ficers said, and Hoskins was driving SsS south on Quincy avenue, the two jail cars coming together with terrific mfl&j force at the intersection. Mr. Whipple was thrown out but his machinn' doubled back, went through a hedge Wm I and landed on the Sacred Heart - academy property.
