Show University of Utah MDCCCL Feb 28th OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT GEORGE THOMAS. PRESIDENT University of Utah Salt Lake City August 25, 1924. Dear Friend: You are now at the crossroads of life, pondering which path to choose, as the time has now come to make one of life's greatest decisions. Upon this decision rests a large measure of the success and happiness of each young man and woman who is now considering where to take the next step in his life career. Perhaps the decision has been made by you and you have planned to cast your lot with the University for the coming year. If you have, I am sure that your use of the catalogue has assisted you in deciding on a course of study. However, in order to allow you to perfect your plans even more, the University has already printed the class program, showing the hours and rooms of the various classes. It is yours for the asking. If you have not as yet made the decision, the time is very close when you and your fellow classmates may part company. Those who have decided to go on with their education and better prepare themselves for life's work have followed the example of the vast majority of the leaders of the world. Abraham Lincoln, one of America's wonderful exemplars, once stated, early In his career, "I shall study and get ready and then my chance will come." He is' only one of the many really successful men who knew the best decision to make was to prepare for success. The real value of your entire education will appear as you specialize in some particular branch of work, before going into the field of competition. The University of Utah has an extensive plant, broad courses of study, complete up-to-date equipment, an efficient faculty, the highest standards, a "live" student body, wholesome recreation and other attractions, interesting and profitable for the young men and women of the State, who, in the next few years will be the leaders in thought and action. Plan your course of study as thoroughly as you can, and when you come to the University in the fall we will help you get placed on the road to leadership. Write us freely for any information you may want. Sincerely yours, George Thomas President. |
