In 1978, Twenth-ninth street was closed and for the first time, the campus of OHS stretched undivided from 28th to 30th street. The OHS Athletic Complex was then renovated and now includes a football stadium and track, with bleachers on the west and east, a baseball diamond, tennis courts and practice field. Recent additions include the Conroy Flag Court and Scoreboard, the baseball scoreboard donated by Ben Day and the Coca-Cola Company and the baseball press box given by the Ogden High School Booster Club. Once considered a luxurious white elephant in the foothills of town, OHS today is a daily reminder of the creative vision and dedication of the educational leaders of 1937. More than one Ogden resident has used the building as a landmark to strangers; many have heard comments about "the castle on Harrison Blvd." And not only those who have learned and taught in that castle, but all Ogden residents, were not surprised when the school was picked, over all other schools in the United States, to star in a movie. The lines of the building still echo the mountains behind it and the notes of Art Deco moulding still grace the hallways as OHS enters its second fifty years of style.
