President and owner of Quality Billiards, Inc., Holmes Industries, Mountain Sales, Renaissance Distributing Co. m Denver area last nine years. Bronco fans! Three sons, two grandchildren. Youngest son, Shane, 18. Lost one son accidentally in August 1977. MARY HOPKINS LEKANDER 5310 Featherbed Lane, Manassas, Virginia 22110 754-4450 Married Richard Squires in 1943. Five chilren. Husband died in 1961. Worked as legislative assistant to Senator W. F. Bennett for 15 years. Married Gilbert Lekander in 1975. He has one son. Three grandchildren. NEVA HUGGINS HENDERSON 785 Three Fountains Circle, Salt Lake City, Utah Worked for about 16 years, mainly for government, personnel and payroll. Retired in 1958 to become "professional" volunteer. Married to Allen Henderson (class of 1939) and helps out in his law office. Served as director of Red Cross volunteers, VA Hospital; chairman. Salt Lake area chapter of Red Cross; National Red Cross Field representative; volunteer chairman in Utah, Idaho and Nevada. Member of Red Cross Board for 16 years, member of United Fund Board for 15 years, member of Multiple Sclerosis Board for 16 years, currently chairman. Volunteer Docent, Salt Lake Art Center. No children, however "we have adopted many along the way whom we enjoy as though they were our own." Enjoys golf and travel. ROBERT W. HUGHES 773 Palermo Drive, Santa Barbara, California 93105 687-0528 Received M.B.A. from Baylor University, Waco, Texas. For 15 years associated with retirement homes sponsored by the Covenant Church of America. At present controller in the corporate office, responsible for four homes in California. Married to Virginia M. Nordquist in 1941, two children, John, a junior at San Diego State University, and Linda a sophomore at Santa Barbara Junior College. Fifteen years in Santa Barbara have been "ideal — golf at least once a week, even in January, tennis even more often!" DARRELB. Plays 18 holes of golf daily, weather permitting. Likes to water ski at Pine- view and Bear Lake. Married to Beverly for 34 years. Four daughters, five grandsons, and one granddaughter. Traveled Canada last summer. Now retired, plans travel at least one month each year. "Glad to be 58 instead of 18!" HAROLD (HAL) B. Lived in Denver until 1964, then moved to Kansas City, Missouri as general counsel for R. B. Jones Corporation, then to Dallas, Texas as head of R. B. Jones operations there. Returned to Denver 3% years ago and now in private law practice, specializing in corporate practice and mergers and acquisitions. Married to Shirley Hill. Three children: Rick, married living in Kansas City; Kirk, just graduated Stanford and now in law school; Ann, senior at Stephens College, at present attending Richmond College in London. MARIE INGLES JAMES 4512 Longhorn Street, Carmichael, California 489-2339 Lived in Sacramento area since 1949. Employed as secretary to Director of Supply until 1973. Now retired. Since retirement has done a lot of traveling. Spent summer of 1976 in Europe. Married to Lew James. Two children: Dr. Robert James, forest pathologist in Denver; Paul James, musician in Los Angeles. Active volunteer for 12 years teaching ceramics in a nursing home. Member of Calvary Temple, interdenominational church in Denver. Hobbies: ceramics, gardening, Bible and prophetic studies. Two grown sons, one grandson and one granddaughter. MARJORIE JACOBSEN SEEGER BECKER 2778 North Highway 89, Layton, Utah 84041 825-4368 Married Fred Becker in 1943; four children. Died in 1954. Married widower, Paul Seeger, with three sons. Had one more son. Graduated from Denver University in 1943 in Librarianship. Did volunteer work on library board for Weber County. Employed for 9 years as medical librarian at McKay-Dee Hospital Center. Secretary-treasurer of Mid- Continental Regional Medical Library Group. Active in Utah Library Association and Medical Library Association. Returned in 1974 to Australia and home town; Enjoys traveling. Four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. ALICE JENSEN MEIBOS 1919 Falstone Ave., Hacienda Heights, California 91745 333-1639 Graduated from Cal State in Fullerton, Calfironia in textile and pattern design. Taught classes in clothing construction and tailoring for men and women's clothing. Was on organizing committee for the first special child parent group in Ogden and Weber County. Served as first vice president and representative on Weber County School Board. Vice president for special child group in Hudson School District in California. Married to Edward B. Meibos, one son, two daughters; two grandchildren (one boy, one girl). Member L.D.S. church, temple worker, genealogy committee, Sunday School and Primary teacher, also chorister and counselor in MIA. Hobbies: lamp shade making, antiques, collector's items, plants, reading American history. GEORGE W.JENSEN 4118 Cumberland, Los Angeles, California 90027 664-6886 During years since high school, experienced roles of traveler, soldier, little league baseball, basketball manager, athlete and senior social case worker in the Los Angeles Department of Social Services. Married to Patricia Lucero; three children. Two in Los Angeles, one in Ogden. Taught at University of Chicago and University of Utah. Helped put husband, Edward Dean Flanders, through medical school at University of Utah. Active in L.D.S. church. Served as ward and stake Relief Society president. Stake MIA president. Currently serves on the Relief Society General Board. Four children: Edward Dean who just graduated from U of U Medical School in June; Conrad and Marcia Christine, both graduated BYU in April; Mark Alan now serving L.D.S. mission in Brazil plus a son who lived only two days. ONA AMELIA JOHNSON (TONI) HANSEN 889 Elm Street, Baker, Oregon 523-3370 Presently owner and operator of resort type complex, A River Inn in Baker. Owned and managed motels in California since 1956. Worked to retirement from the Sacramento City Police Department to a supervisor in the Bureau of Investigation. Holds pilot license and until recently flew own planes, enjoys racing cars, boats and planes with son Drex who is most accomplished. Still enjoys music but has switched from sax to the electric organ (what would an old bag like me be doing still playing a sax?) For 18 years prior to 1956, tried to settle down "with two kids and a husband who traveled through Idaho Washington, Alaska, Montana, Oregon,California and back to Oregon." Married 1944, divorced 1979. Son Drex is business partner in A River Inn. Tamara Hicks is public relations officer for United Air Lines. In 1977 was one of ten finalists in Mrs. USA Pageant. Has two daughters. NORMA LUCILE JONES HANSEN 1229 33rd Street, Ogden, Utah 84403 Attended Weber State College, then graudated from the old Thomas D. School of Nursing. Married to Willard C. Hansen from Fountain Green, Utah, who was in clerical and computer work for the railroad. Married 32 years when he died in 1975. Three sons and two daughters (three married) and six grandsons and four grandduaghters. Private nursing for 13 years, then into supervision at Dee. In emergency room for 8 years. Went back to college, earned a baccalaureate and masters degree in medical-surgical nursing, then a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from University of Utah. Began teaching in 1965. Currently associate professor in the nursing department at Weber. President of the State Nurses Organization. Traveled to many states to nurses meetings and as a delegate to national conventions. Traveled with family to Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico. Interests: Church activites, golf, bridge and handiwork. Married to Ralf Stanley Richardson. Lived in Ketchikan, Alaska where they operated a drugstore for 18 years. Moved to Colorado Springs in 1971. Went back into nursing, this time as a psychiatric nurse at Brady Hospital. Husband in motel business, buying old motels, houses, etc., renovates, upgrades into apartments or modern units, then sells them. One daughter, one son, no grandchildren. MARY KARIYA TAKAGAKI 3910 Somerset Drive, Los Angeles, California 90008 291-3577 Majored in political science at Occidental College, Los Angeles, and Berea College in Kentucky. Worked last 12 years at University of Southern California as a supervisor and graduate evaluator in the degree check department of the registrar's office, helping graduate students get their master's or Ph.D's. (Love my job!) Hobbies include travels within and outside United States. "My second home is Japan." Activities: membership on committees at U.S.C., Episcopal Church and civic groups. Married to Yo (Yoshio) Takagaki. Three children: Richard, a teacher at secondary level; Judi, exeuctive secretary; is a reservationist (bi-lingual) with an airline. Recitalist: Baroque: with Baroque violin and bow and harpsichord; Mozart, with Mozart bow and piano; complete works of Beethoven for mandolin and harpsichord. Husband crop duster for over 15 years. Active L.D.S. Church: in presidencies of Primary, Relief Society, M.I.A., teacher and secretary in ward and stake positions. Hobbies: music, arts and crafts, and family. Six girls (his, mine, ours) 141/2 grandchildren (8 boys, 6 girls) - living in Washington, Arizona and Utah. Forst woman appointed as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior's Coordinator Rural Affairs OEO/CSA. Member of the Inter-agency Task Force on Indo China Refugees. Currently Coordinator Fellowship Program, Project HOPE. Several seasons of summer stock, one season at Erie Playhouse. Newpspaer column in Erie, Pa. Published articles in newspapers in New Mexico, southern Utah, eastern Arizona and west Texas. Married to Edward Wayne Bundy, Ph.D. Six children: Ganie DeHart, BYU, married, husband Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins; Kevin, Univ. of New Mexico, political science; Thomas, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, writer; Rebecca Brown, Shephard College, one son age 2; Philip Edward, Lord Fairfax College, acting; Heidi Louise, accepted to Utah State University for fall. Worked in hospitals in Utah, Montana and Washington. Presently director of nurses in 124-bed health care center in Richland. Married to John E. Evans, a pharmacist. Three children: John R. is an oral surgeon and oral pathologist in Oklahoma City; Gina a dental hygienist in Seattle and Scott E. a high school student. He is famous as the discoverer of man-made diamonds." Lived in Schenectady, New York for seven years where husband worked for General Electric. In Provo since 1955. Traveled a great deal in connection with husband's work: Europe, India, Japan, Thailand, Hongkong, the Philippines and Hawaii. Active L.D.S.: Relief Society president. Primary president, teacher in various organizations. Hobbies: genealogy and raising orchids. Published a genealogy book on the Langford family. Seven children, two boys and five girls, and 20 grandchildren under age of 10 (10 boys, 10 girls). MARY MARIE LAPRAY WILSON 1020 Tyler Avenue, Ogden, Utah 84404 393-5798 Married November 4, 1939 to Scott A. Wilson. Two sons, Larry and Kent, both of Ogden. Eight grandchildren, one an Indian boy. Active in L.D.S. church, at present in Relief Society presidency. Enjoys being a housewife. Traveled through the United States and spent one summer traveling in Europe. Met at Weber College. Two daughters, four sons, ten grandchildren. Graduated from Weber College and Utah State University. Majored in Home Economics and Elementary Education. Taught school for three years during war. Raised family for 20 years, then returned to teaching at Plain City School kindergarten for past 13 years. Active L.D.S. Church: teacher. Relief Society President 10 years and Relief Society Stake Board for seven years. Active in P.T.A. and community affairs. Has traveled extensively in United States, Canada, South and Central America, Mexico, England, Europe, Hawaii and Tahiti and hopes to see the rest of the world in the next few years.
