Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Thursday, January 27 Have had a buisy morning. Cleone came in for awhile. Was a guest of my sister Lucile Hancock. She, Blanch & Myrene & Mrs Blanch Johnston we hostesses to their Camp D.U.P. A nice time. Red a very nice note from Taylor Peery. mailed a Omah. Wrote to Mary. She will have quite a resonsability taking care of her home & three children with Taylor over seas no one knows for how long. Friday, January 28 Justin Eccles & Sharon Rich G.C. were here for hot lunch. They are cousins and about the sme age go to same school very nice to each other. They came here as Cleone & I are entertaining Acacia Club at Eccles home. Mrs Yono here working. I went down town & arranged with Penneys to make four pairs of new drapes for the big living room. Will cost about 70.00. Am well pleased with the material Sister Hannah Poulter buried today. Saturday, January 29 I feel very depressed after reading of some of the terriable treatment & killing of thousands of our American boys taken prisoners in Japan. We are sure to have many more killed & taken before this horriable thing is over. Few homes that are not sad today. Here in America there are so many strikes and much political controversy just what our enemys gloat over. May God make our leaders mindful of it all with courage to do Right. Sunday, January 30 Dr and I attended Sunday School. We enjoyed dinner with Cleone and family. Dr made some calls. We spent remander of the day at home reading. Edward Rich III Juniors boy fell from a ladder 7 cut his leg. Dr Hancock took 7 stiches in it. A cold day. Myrene came down for awhile this evening. Brought us 2 of nice butter and 4 of cheese. both are rationed at present. Wrote my 4th letter to Thair & 1st v mail He is in Eng somewhere Jan 31
