Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Saturday, September 23 Do very little house work these days as too many other things I rather do. Charles Smart came up this evening has a bad cold so took hot bath retired early. Sunday, September 24 Dr and I attended Mt Ogden Stake Conference. Well attended and fine talks made by young ment of the Aronic Priestood. Charles Smart feels better of his cold and went to Conference with Justin, Myrelle and their mother Cleone R. Eccles who is now Stake Pres. of the Y.L.M.I.A. Charles had dinner with them. Junior Blanch and Sharen also attended Conference. Junior is forty five years old today so we had a nice dinner with him & his family. This evening we enjoyed a picnic lunch given Junior by Gean & Wallace Browning at which all the Rich & browning families were present. Such delicious eats Dr & I left early to attend 50 Anniversary party of Joe & Minnie Jorman at Kaysville. Old friends. Thursday, September 21 Have some cold but feel pretty well. It is so good to have Junior near us again. He is at Bushnell with a Unit or Medical set up of 500 to go over seas in the near future. I have spent the day on D.U.P. history attended the D.U.P. meeting 1st of the new season held at U.S.O. President Simpson reported the Hall roof (DUP) had been shingled at an expense of 600.00. Also that the City County & U.S. Trails organization we considering moving Good Year Cabin from D.U.P. property & placeing it on City Hall Park if aggreament could be reached. To be done soon. War news Monday, September 25 Cleone drove to Salt Lake, Mrs Willson (Bell) & I went with her. Bell & I spent four hours at Deseret Book binding & Printing Co going over pictures for Daughters of Pioneers of Utah Weber Co History which we hope will be off the press for Christmas. Returned home at 6 P.M. very tired. Called to see Laura Bowering Rich wife of Drs brother Ben E Rich. She is a very dear little old lady now 86 yr old and still keeping roomers.
