Friday, January 3 Did some shopping. Did some laundry. Cleone called. Jessie Richs two daughters called this evening. Elna has been in U.S. Army as a nurse & is still in Service at Elpaso Texas. Weather much colder. Dr Junior & his father did four major operations this forenoon. Saturday, January 4 Dr has taken some cold. He had a letter from his brother Ezra who is now in Los Angeles & quite well I have been writing up my 1946 diary for the past week to file away. Los Angeles has a food strike on. They are striking for 50 percent more than present wage. Dr came home early. Dr Junior came late this evening & still had calls to make. Sunday, January 5 Cold weather. Dr did not rest well. He is coughing some so remained in bed until eleven A.M. At 1 P.M. we had a nice dinner with Royal & Cleone Eccles we came home at 3 P.M. Dr had a good rest & slept a couple of hours. Mrs Chris Flygare fell & hurt her self yesterday. Dr & I called to see her. Hope she will be better in a few days She is quite febel. Dr spoke on The Pioneers of Utah at the 18th Ward this evening. He has a cold so retired early. I have written long letters to Thair in Vienna Avon in Los Angeles & Oertel in Oxford Ohio. Retire at eleven P.M. Monday, January 6 Did not feel very well so remained in bed until 1130 A.M. Dr was up & had his breakfast & on the job at 9 A.M. He slept well & his cold is much better. Junior had lunch with us. This afternoon I dismanteled the Xmas Tree quite a Job. This evening about 5 oclock Teletha Browning Ellis died of heart trouble at the Dee Hospital where she was taken unconcious after Coronary thrombosis the 26 of Dec. Dr Edward I was with her when she passed away. She is the oldest sister to Juniors wife Blanch who is the youngest of the 4 sisters. A beautiful women was Talitha
