During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Saturday, January 11 Have spent the day as I have most of my days at home & doing things I usualy do. Listing Xmas cards and arranging home, writing notes & some letters. Very cold & stormy. Sunday, January 12 Dr & I attended Sunday School. Enjoyed a nice dinner with Cleone & family. Called to see our dear friend Amelia Flygare who is in bed from a fall breaking her arm etc. Much better today. A cold day snowed some tonight & is bad driving. Dr called to see Dr Baker he is able to be up. He was called to see an old lady who lives alone she had fallen and was unconcious had been without warmth & lain all night & day in this condition May die tonight. Junior was called to G.L. Becker this evening he died of heart attack while he was there. Monday, January 13 Have done laundry. Attended a D.U.P. Committee meeting on our Annual Ball to be held last of Feb. Wrote letter to Oertel. Recd one from her. Dr has a cold he is out in this cold weather too much. Edward B Rich is 12 yr old today. Have written several letters. Jan 14 Amis hair This morning Janath Russell Carmon gave birth to a 5 and one half baby girl at L.D.S. hospital in Salt Lake City. Dr attended her. She had a normal labor. This is our 5 great grand child. Tuesday, January 14 A very stormy day. Have been busy at home tho I should like to have gone to Relief Society. Dr came home early. Has a bad cold so did not go to the Ballet Russe. I attended. Joe & Myrene called for me. It was excellant. Our great granddaughters hair Lynn Shaw who was one year old Jan 4. We have not seen her yet. Her mother Claire Eccles Shaw & father Reed Shaw live in Brookstow Indiana. She is a lovly baby from her picture Lynn Shaw hair |
