Show Day Light Stream lined train for LA. February 15 Thursday. Ventura. Took the train from Palo Alto for Los Angeles, having had a happy & interesting time at Marys. She has been wonderful to us. We arrived at Santa Barbra about three PM. Royal Hendricks drove up from Ventura to meet us. We stayed over night at his home in Ventura. Lottie his wife was gone but his mother chest the three dogs & the cook were there. Royal took us out to a night club for dinner. We had a nice visite with chester looking over old pictures of her mothers. she gave me quite a member of our family. Los Angeles. Called on phone Mrs. C. Smart. Dr & Mrs. ES Budge. Friday 16 February Called Roland Woolly. Had a letter from Dr and a card from Lucile. Royal sent his car with us to Los Angeles this AM a delightful ride of sixty mi along the coast. We checked our luggage, made reservations to go home Sunday AM. Mrs Overton a dear friend of Myrenes we met a Martha Washington candy shoppe where she works. After lunch we window shopped and she later took me to Dr WH Pettys where I had dinner & stayed over night Myrene stayed with Mrs. Overton. Annie Petty one of my dearest friend and I talked by the fire place until one AM. Dr the boys also made me very welcome. |
