Standard May 3rd 57 OBITUARIES 1957 OBITUARIES 1957 Mrs. D. R. Wheelwright Mrs. Valborg Henretta Rasmussen Wheelwright, 81, wife of David R. Wheelwright, died last night at her j home, 1286 25th St. Mrs. Wheelwright organized the Women's Legislative Council of Ogden, I , serving as the first president. She was : a member of the American Assn. of University Women and a former member of the board of trustees for the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind. She was born June 3, 1873 in Copenhagen, Denmark, a daughter of Godtfred Wilheln and Henertta Louise Rasmussen. She attended school in Denmark, coming to Utah in 1888. She ! worked in the Hansen Dairy in Collinston and later as a house maid in Og- j den. She then moved to Brigham City where she was employed as a saleswoman for the F. W. Fishburn Co. On Nov. 28, 1900, she was married to Mr. Wheelwright in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. In 1904, she was called on an LDS Church mission to Denmark where her husband was secretary of the Scandinavian Mission. They were released i in 1905 and had resided in Ogden since their return. Mrs. Wheelwright had been active In the Sunday School, MIA and Relief Society work of the church and had served as a member of the Mount Ogden Stake Relief Society Board. She graduated from Weber College and the University of Utah and attended Northwestern University in Chicago. She worked for two years as a social worker in Ogden. During the depression, she operated a free employment agency in her home. LIST SURVIVORS Surviving are her husband, three tons. Dr. Sterling Wheelwright, world traveler, now in China; Dr. Lorin F. Wheelwright and Max Wheelwright, Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the LDS Mount Ogden-Highland Ward by Bishop John Price. Friends may call at the Larkin ' Mortuary Chapel Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Monday until 12:30 p.m. Burial In Brigham City.
