Also recd letter from our daughter Avon from Los Angeles Cal She is doing a splendid work in the Church down there, so is her Husband J.H. Smart. He has recently been made a member of the High Council. Cleone took me down to Market, Myrene called - dear daughters I wrote to Richard B. Rich & wife who are in Honolulu FRIDAY There is only one way to handle a woman. The trouble is nobody knows what it is. February 1, 1957 Nice day - warmer +20o to 45o I have been home all day I went over to Joe & Myrenes to dinner and to see prize fight - good Recd letters from Mary and Avon and Charles Smart. Have read most of the day and listened to T.V. Wrote to Avon Terrible air plane crash up over School playground in Van Nuys Cal Several children killed and many hurt Warmer 50o + +38o last night SATURDAY…..February 2, 1957 Have been home nearly all day Cleone took me down town this p.m. and we called to see Joseph Foulger who has been an invalid for several years and we also called to see sister Julia Parry who is also an invalid. Both good people and I pity them. Both old patients of mine I have read some and meditated some why good people suffer so long.
