SUNDAY…..February 24, 1957 Nice day. I attended ward High Priest meeting and Ward Priesthood meeting and Sunday School. Had nice dinner at Dr Jr’s and Blanche’s. Came home and had brief nap. Read during late afternoon Dr Lynn Crookston came over in the evening and we had nice visit and listened to T.V. for short time Retire at 10 pm Cleone called me on phone. MONDAY….February 25, 1957 Cleone and I went to Salt Lake to day I talked with Bro Spense about some business at Zion Savings Bank and bought some shoes. We visited Janath Russell Cannon and visited Nina Nelson an old friend at an old Ladys home at 642 University Street Salt La Beautiful day. Catham Nursing Home. Phone Em 4-2195 Nice ride Dr Jr called this evening watched T.V. and read some. TUESDAY…..February 26, 1957 Beautiful day I have been home all day Have a sore toe and do not want to walk much. Have read and wrote to Charles Smart & Family Recd letter from Myrene Have read some and watched T.V. This evening Mary - our daughter called me on phone from Palo Alto Cal Dear girl. Sister Ellen Eccles age 90 died last night in Salt Lake City. She was 2nd wife of David Eccles. Royal’s father Big family, good woman. They had big party for her in Jany at Hotel on her 90th birthday WEDNESDAY….February 27, 1957 Nice day about +50o in day time I have been home all day until this evening Cleone and I went over to High School Auditorium to a Community Concert series. A woman gave dramatic reading of three trashy novels. She was a talented reader but subject’s trashy. I did not enjoy it at all 2 ¼ hours of misery for me. I have read some to day and have thought a good deal of Oertel and her final passing one year ago tomorrow - Dear girl Retire at 11 -10 tired
