64 on weekends (Friday and Saturday) for students or anyone in the community. When the Hall was in use on Weekends the girls living in the dormitory would meet their dates or guests in the conservatory. There was an outside entrance to this room which made it very convenient when large parties were given. The girls in the Hall had a student organization consisting of a president, vice-president and a secretary. The students made their own house rules and assisted in seeing that the rules were adhered to. One interesting rule was that if one girl violated the "late-privilege" she and all other girls in the house were "grounded" or penalized. This placed a big responsibility on each girl and the rules were seldom broken. The girls had many "fun parties" while they lived in the Hall. Birthdays were always honored with some form of a party. On special occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, the housemother prepared a traditional holiday dinner. After Mrs. Tanner left, there were several other housemothers appointed to the position. Miss Mae Welling, Dean of Women for the College, served for six months, just prior to her accepting a position as Dean of Women at Utah State University in Logan. She was followed by Miss Gertrude Stallings of the College. It was Miss Stallings who cooked the "never-forgotten" special dinners for the
