Show 90 passed a resolution to the effect that Weber County lease its property known as the old courthouse to the person or persons who made the highest offer for a lease for a period of three years, with an additional seven-year option. This lease was to be negotiated at a public hearing in the regular meeting of the County Board of Commissioners on November 23. It was further ordered that the Weber County Clerk prepare said notice to appear in the Ogden Standard Examiner and that said premises be used for the purpose of a parking lot only. At this meeting Mr. Spencer Klomp was the only bidder, offering $1,800.00 a year for the first three years and $2,500.00 a year for the remaining seven years. Mr. Klomp's bid was accepted. In 1972, in place of the grand old courthouse, there is a parking terrace leased by private interests, though still owned by the County. |
