Show Volume2_ Issue 1 As we start the New Year one of the greatest obstacles we face in following Christ is fear of the unknown. We yearn to know in advance the outcome of our obedience and where He is taking us, yet we are only given the assurance that He is with us and that He is in charge and with that, we venture into the unknown with Him. Abraham modeled the response of a person who was willing to walk with God into the uncertain future and obeyed God and went out not knowing where He was going (Hebrews 11:8). He knew that God had given him a promise and that was enough. He was willing to trust God with his future. We may do the same by trusting our Lord for the future and stepping out on faith! O Lord God, who has called us, Your servants, to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet unknown, give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that Your hand is leading us and Your love is supporting us. Amen. “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called...and he went out not knowing where he was going.’ Hebrews 11:8 SUNSHINE VISITS If you know of someone who would like the Sunshine Committee to visit them, please contact Deaconess Martha Luke Sunshine Committee Chairperson May God bless you with health, peace, joy and love this Year. “Everything is going to be fine in 2009.” Sts. Betty Smadldon NZBC Newsletter Sr. Editor/Publisher Mission’s Corner (continued) One of the first ‘new things” which has manifested for 2009 is the election of our new Mission President, Sis. Lucy Jones. The Mission is committed to serve with her and expectantly awaiting great things to come forth under her leadership as God continues to equip New Zion to stand as one of His true lights in this world. As the outgoing President, Min. Holman stated, “It has been one of God's greatest blessings to me to humbly serve as a Mission member. | praise and thank the Lord for the wonderful gift of knowing and having the prayer and support of each sister in Christ within the Mission. | pledge my continue service and prayer within the Mission." There is much to do in 2009 and there is a place for all Mission members to serve. Once again, the Mission is inviting “new’ sisters, of all ages, to partner with them to usher in and experience the “promises of God” this upcoming year. The first bi-monthly meeting for the New Year will be held Tuesday, January 13, at 6:00 p.m. They will be studying some spiritually uplifting lessons and engage in wonderful Christian praise and fellowship!
