Show Volume 2_ Issue 4 Page 10 Looking Through the Eyes of an Armourbearer - One Year Later First, | give all glory and honor to God! Whom without, none of this would have been possible and | thank Him, for calling me to be Pastor Davis’ Armourbearer. Throughout the first year of the Armourbearer Ministry, | have seen and learned a lot of things. As Chief Armourbearer, | have the privilege to teach other Armourbearers through training sessions, which are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays or Saturdays of every month. In the classes, | pass on the teachings and training that Pastor Davis has taught me through our weekly meetings. The training lessons consist of Biblical scriptures, the teaching of Armourbearers (I-r): Bro. Marcus Smauldon, Bro. TJ Reynolds, Bro. Matthew Smauldon & Bro. Benny Crawford Armourbearer duties and functions, and how to serve and be a good example to others. As an Armourbearer, | understand how important it is to assist the Pastor with the big and little things to minimize distractions, i.e., such as understanding how important the Public Address (PA) system is in delivering the Gospel to the congregation and offering assistance during special prayer for the congregation during Altar Call. | have noticed great growth in the number of new members joining our New Zion family, and how our youth and adult choirs have come together singing, which is something special. Our Music Department is also coming together, all of this is by the grace of God. This past year has been both challenging and rewarding for all of the Armourbearers. It is an enjoyment for me to work side by side with the young men of this Ministry. | have been able to witness their growth in such a positive way. Learning how to serve in this ministry has also made me a better husband, father and man by thinking more of others and less of myself. It has been a very positive experience for me throughout every aspect of my life, not just at church. We, as Armourbearers, look forward to working many more years of being God's servants! May God bless and keep you! Bro.
