Show Friday, December 8 Acacia met at Mrs Fred Farrs Cablegram from Thair saying he had been advanced to full Co. Letter from Avon Mary Brewer is three yr old we gave her a ring she was very pleased. Packed Xmas boxes for Mary Peery, Cloteel, Sam Young family, Olley Cozzens, Aunt Mary Jones and Avon Smart. Saturday, December 9 Royal Eccles birthday he & family also Blanch and Sharen go to Salt Lake City & have a nice dinner in Empire room at Hotel Utah. Bell Wilson and I went by train to S.L.C. on buisness for D.U.P. Book spent entire day. Spent some time at Apostle D.O. McKays office. He is and has been very much interested and has helped us in many ways wrote the foreward. Read galleys & made suggestions as to selling it. I am very tired returned late, prepare supper & retire early. Sunday, December 10 Dr and I attended Mt Ogden Stake Conference this A.M. We were uncomfortably cold. Mark Peterson of council of the Twelve gave a splendid talk on sustaining the officers of the church and compared the triels of Moses in leading his people out of Egypt. The announcement of D.U.P. book Beneath Ben Lomans Peak being off the Press for Xmas was made by Pres. Stanley Robins. Dr made some calles. We called at Lindquist undertakers to see John Hoxer whos funeral will be at the 5th Ward. He was over 90 yr old a fine old man. We had dinner with Cleone called on Blanch Rich & remained home rest of day Monday, December 11 Have done laundry today. Weather cold so have to dry in the house. Recd a letter from Oscar Russell who is now in N.Y. also Xmas box from Cloteel Rich & children. A letter from Avon also her order for 13 D.U.P. Histories Cloteels letter today refirmed Thairs promotion to full Col. |
