Show January 12 Friday. A very delightful party last night. I slept until 10 AM prepared Drs lunch worked about the house. At four PM attended a tea with Cleone at the home of Mrs. Edna Dumke. At seven had dinner for guests from Jackson Wyo. Mr & mrs. Jack Turner wife & son who spent the evening also. I retired late as I had no help so did up dishes & made some preparation for tomorrow nights party. Recd a letter from Mary from Calif. Saturday 13 January Rupert K helped me get the house in order for tonight. We entertained sixteen much the same as Thursday. For meat I served breaded pork chops oven style. Our guests were Bishop & Mrs. David Romney Mr & Mrs Aron Tracy mr & Mrs Elija Larkin Scout Dilworth Young & wife Pres Mrs. WH Reeder Mr & Mrs John Culley Bishop & Mrs Smith Murphy. A very nice evening. recd a letter from Ruth Rich in Panama. E.I. Richs Set Series of Parties. Jan 21 40. Dr and Mrs. Edward I. Rich are planning a series of dinner parties to be given at their home on Jefferson avenue. They were host and hostess at two of the series on Thursday and Saturday evenings. Covers were laid for sixteen guests each evening. |
