The Printing Industry of Utah is One of Great Dimension —It affords Em¬ployment for Many Wage- Earners, who are the "Spenders" of Commerce. Don't Send Your Printing out of the State—that's a disgrace—If Ogden can't do it, try Salt Lake. HARPER BROTHERS Publishers and Printers Long Distance Phone Wasatch 1840 41-43 Richards Street Salt Lake City C Are You a Member OF THE Manufacturers Association of Utah? Inquiries are often made by manufacturers, not members of this association, as to what added value would accrue to them through their joining the asso- j • ciation. Frankly, they would gain little above what they are already receiving. For this reason: When this association works for measures calculated to bene¬fit the State's industries every manufacturer be he member or not, is benefited. When adverse, unjust legislation is throttled and constructive measures made effective the benefits are general. When labor difficulties are solved by the committees of this association, no employer of labor on a big scale, escapes the benefits. When time and money and energy are spent for the education of the public to a consistent use of Utah made goods, every producer in every mill, fac¬tory and workshop is benefited. So that membership in this association does not add to the benefits in that direction. But, there is a moral aspect to membership, which no manufacturer can afford to ignore. All these, activities require means, real U. S. coin. It should come from the beneficiaries of such wide spread operations. The sense of justice suggests that such financial responsibility be equitably distributed among the manufacturers of the State; that no one of them should feel himself exempt. To hold out the ready hand for acceptance of benefits and favors, without the willingness to re-compense for such gratuities, smacks strongly of the unpopular parasite, that exists on the vitality of foreign bodies, to which it attaches itself and grows fat. It takes all, gives nothing in return. BE CONSISTENT—BE LOYAL —CO-OPERATE WITH THIS ASSOCIATION For further details, address: A. C. REES, Executive Secretary, 1014 Kearns Bldg., SALT LAKE CITY |
