Show Wind started Sun pm & continued through night sat by machine reading at Radfords. Wind still blowing this am. Rain at 2 pm a heavy one continuing all pm. Our heads smothered thru the town. Ride out late pm. called at Mr. Schows. Nans Melba & Betty. The latter girls weak & complaining, read Dickens eve. Storm cleared up. Tuesday, Aug 23, The paper records really heavy lightning storm. still cont. terrace boxes. We put the furnace on for a while. A quiet day at home. Henry came & did some fixing. Mr. Schow also fixed things. A ride in eve. Supper at Big Burger. Reading Dickens at home later. Wednesday, Aug. 24, I wrote to Peggy & Rosabelle this am. Nans pm out. I finished my book on the reading radio. I took a rest. Feel a cold coming on. Nan came at 6 & I went a ride with her before she went to Marys & early to bed. Settled weather but cool. Thursday, Aug. 25 Got up feeling cold developing, took it easy all day. Gary fixing around, I did some phoning & various unfinished France arrangements. Nan did the marketing not out all day, early to bed. Feeling fine this am. Friday, Aug. 26, Wrote a letter to Leota & made some checks. Nan went thru the rooms they look nice. Rode out to Giblings & paid for house flowers. To Hansons & made arrangements for further garden. Read Dickens eve. Back again with my aches & pains. Listened to ball games & to my reading book. Went around looking for Turkey for Nans birthday Sunday, Aug. 28, Sunday School 10 am fast meeting after. Nan got dinner after we got home. Laurie & Janet came. bringing |
