Second year marksmanship first and award, proficiency year marksmanship proficiency award, sponsored by the American Legion Post 9, were won by Cadet 1st Lt. Edward Armstrong, and Cadet M.Sgt. Richard B. Cook. MARKSMANSHIP spon- awards, Marksmanship sored by the American Legion Post 9, were awarded to cadets who participated in 85 per cent of the rifle matches for the Ben junior School High Lomond ROTC rifle team. Recipients were, Michael Wat- kins, Richard Doug Cook, Fred Wheelwright, Coolbear, Steven Casort, Jerry Kihlstrom, Paul Nielsen, Terry Carpenter, Marvin Johns, Craig Woods, and John Willis. Cadet Maj. Michael Watkins was awarded the rifle team club champion medal, donated by the National Rifle Association. Best drill cadet award, sored by the Military spon- Depart- ment, Ogden High Schools, was received by Cadet ist Lt. Steven Cherry, while the outstanding NCO medal, also sponsored by the military department, was awarded to Cadet 1st Lt. A, was honored as the best drill company, and received a trophy sponsored by the American Legion Post 9. Outstanding senior year award, sponsored by the Ogden chapter, Reserve Officers Association, was presented to Cadet Maj. Dean North, and certificates went to Cadet Maj. Fred Coolbear, Cadet Lt. Col. Thomas Barr, Cadet Maj. Michael Watkins, and Cadet Capt. Gary Wahlstrom. _ The academic achievement insignia awarded by the Mili- tary Department, Ogden High Schools was presented to 7 seniors, 4 juniors, and 29 sophomores. ° Eight seniors, 10 juniors, and 22 sophomores were presented leadership sponsored proficiency by the awards, Military De- partment, Ogden High Schools. |
