Show Technology Life Insurance Sales Program: Life Insurance SalesAssociate of Applied Science Degree I. General Requirements: A. A minimum of 93 credit hours. B. Courses in major field require a minimum of 67 credit hours. C. English 101A (1), 101B (1), 101C (1), and 103B (3). D. At least 20 hours from the general education courses listed in the catalog, including at least one course in each of the five areas, Humanities, Life Science, Physical Science, Social Science and Other. CHARTERED LIFE UNDERWRITER PROGRAM The Institutional Certificate program for life insurance has been develope< to give more specific training toward the working knowledge of the concepts an< techniques used daily within the life insurance industry. Program: Chartered Life UnderwriterInstitutional Certificate I. General Requirements: A. An overall G. P. A. of 2.00 or C. B. 45 total hours are required. C. Licensed life insurance agents only. II. Specific Requirements: A. Distributive Technology courses required (minimum of 45 credit hours): Distributive Technology 114 (4), 160 (3), 201 (3), 202 (3), 203 (3), 204 (3), 205 (3), 206 (3), 207 (3), 208 (3), 209 (3), 210 (3), 256 (5), 289 (3-9). SALES AND OFFICE ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM (In cooperation with Department of Office Administration and Business Education,) Program: Sales and Office AdministrationAssociate of Applied Science Degree I. General Requirements: A. A minimum of 93 credit hours. B. Courses in major field require a minimum of 67 credit hours. C. English 101A (1), 101B (1), 101C (1), and 103B (3). D. SALES AND RETAILING PROGRAM The sales and retail merchandising area of Distributive Technology is designed to prepare men and women for employment in various capacities in the major areas of Direct Sales and Retail Merchandising; including training for salesman, (auto, insurance, real estate, etc.); retail trade areas (salesmen, buyers, sales promoters, and advertising); mid-management areas of sides managers, buying managers, credit managers and wholesale managers. Students will supplement their work in theory with practical on-the-job training in local business establishments receiving up to 9 hours of credit for their work experience. TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL WAREHOUSING PROGRAM The transportation management and general warehousing area of Distributive Technology is designed to prepare men and women for employment in various capacities in the major areas of transportation management and warehousing: including training for traffic managers, buying managers, credit managers, and material managers, materials handler, stock control, shipping clerk and receiving clerk. Students will supplement their work in theory with practical on-the-job training in local business establishments receiving up to 9 hours of credit for their work experience. 261 |
