Show Arts, Letters and Science 156. Advanced Public Performance and Reader's Theatre Workshop—Preparation of advanced students for public performance; study and preparation of selected dramatic works with emphasis on development of advanced skills and appreciations. Creative Dramatics—Youth recreational programs as mediums of enjoyment and of personality development for children with emphasis on development of the imagination. Touring Theatre—Preparation and presentation of plays prepared for tours of Ogden and adjacent area and selected points throughout the state. (Five hours maximum applied toward graduation. Advanced Theatre Production Lab—Application of stage arts and crafts including the building, painting and lighting of scenery. Prerequisite: Theatre Arts 67, or permission of the instructor. Winterton. 212 Arts, Letters and Science The Department of Zoology offers courses in the departmental major and minor, teaching major and minor and core courses serving as pre-professional training for medicine, dentistry, etc. Students following prescribed programs for pre- medicine, pre-dentistry, etc., may have departmental requirements for graduation waived which are inconsistent with professional curricula. Upon submission of equivalent courses to and approval by the department chairman and Dean of School, he may be recommended for graduation as a Zoology major. ZOOLOGY It is recommended a student majoring in Zoology select courses in an area of principal interest: invertebrates, vertebrates, physiology, ecology, animal biology, etc. Advisors will assist the student in the determination of a curriculum which will be best for a particular field of major concentration. Zoology Departmental Major—Students should take the following courses in addition to the college specific and area requirements: Zoology 4 or 1; 7 or 105; 145; 30; 190; 20 or 120 or 121; and an additional 20 hours of approved Zoology classes; Botany 1; and 2 or 60; Mathematics 14 or 18 or 21; Physics 5 or 51 through 56; Chemistry 11, 12, 13, or 24, 25, 26, 131, 132; (the more advanced Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics courses are recommended if graduate work is intended.) Zoology majors are encouraged to take Zoology 4 in preference to 1. Credit will not be allowed for both Zoology 1 and 4. Zoology Departmental Minor—A minor in Zoology may be completed by taking a minimum of 25 hours of approved courses in this subject, including: Zoology 4 or 1 and 7 or 105. Zoology Teaching Major—Zoology teaching majors should complete the college specific course and area requirements in addition to those required for Utah State Department of Education teacher certification and the following courses: Zoology 4 or 1; 7 or 105; 164; 165 or 166; 167 or 168; 145; 181; and an additional ten hours of Zoology classes; Botany 1; 2 or 60; Chemistry 11, 12, 13, or 24, 25, 26; Geology 21; Physics 5; and Mathematics 14. Zoology 30, 20 or 120 or 121, and Bacteriology 1 are also recommended. Zoology Teaching Minor—The Zoology teaching minor should include the following courses: Zoology 4 or 1; 7 or 105; 164; 145; and 181.
