Beginning Instrument Principles—A basic science class to provide background information on subjects such as physical laws, theory of flight, blueprint interpretation, and materials, standards, structures, hydraulics, plumbing, weight and balance, and function of aircraft instruments both pneumatic and electronic. Technology AWS 5 3 21 21 21 AIRCRAFT SHEET METAL The Aircraft Sheet Metal Program is a three quarter or 1500 hour program to meet the needs of industry. Students interested in this program should be a high school graduate or equivalent or eighteen years of age. He must meet the physical and aptitude requirements associated with the aircraft sheet metal field. This program does not require prerequisite classes. 1. Sheet Metal Production Processes—Elementary lab- ratory work concerning the construction and operation maintenance of mock-up aircraft frame and skin assemblies. Tools and shop equipment, forming operations, rivets, riveting and fasteners, aircraft plumbing and rebalancing of movable surfaces. A (5). Staff 2. Sheet Metal Principles—Elementary theory for airframe repairmen, dealing with aircraft structures, structural metals, descriptive nomenclature, forming processes, principles of design, basic principles of repair, general considerations in balancing surfaces, interpretation of technical orders, and some phases of maintenance accounting. A (5). Staff 3. Sheet Metal Production Processes—Intermediate laboratory work concerning the construction and operation maintenance of mock-up aircraft frame and skin assemblies. Tools 298 299 |
